Consumer champion
We review your issue, identify the best next step, and help you draft and escalate a complaint to the right channel — whether that's a formal complaint to the company, a regulator referral, or an ombudsman filing.
You've complained but nothing has happened
A formal complaint was submitted, you received an acknowledgement, but there has been no meaningful response — or the response doesn't address the issue. You're not sure where to go next.
You don't know which route to take
Complaints can go to the company, a sector regulator, an ombudsman, or a small claims court. Which route applies depends on the type of issue and where things currently stand. Getting the route right at the start makes a difference.
The complaint keeps going in circles
Repeated contact with customer service, no escalation, being referred back to a team that refers you on again. Getting out of that loop requires knowing which specific escalation route applies and what to include when you take it.
How SavYour helps
We review your issue
We look at what happened, what you've already tried, what documentation you have, and what outcome you're looking for. We identify what kind of complaint this is and which route — company, regulator, or ombudsman — applies.
We identify the best next step
Whether that's a formal complaint letter to the company, a referral to the relevant regulator, or a filing with the appropriate ombudsman — we tell you exactly where to go and what to include.
We help you draft and prepare — you submit
We help you put the complaint together clearly and completely. You send it and pursue it. We support the complaint process; we don't contact providers or act on your behalf.
What we look at
- Nature of the issue and company involved
- What you've already done — calls, emails, formal complaints submitted
- What documentation you have — emails, bills, receipts, correspondence
- Whether you've received any formal response from the company
- What outcome you're looking for

Common questions
What is the difference between a formal complaint and going to an ombudsman?+−
A formal complaint is made directly to the company. The ombudsman is an independent body you can go to after the company has either rejected your complaint or failed to respond within a reasonable time. Most ombudsman schemes require you to have first made a formal complaint to the company. We identify where you are in that process and tell you the next step.
Which bodies handle energy and broadband complaints in Ireland?+−
Energy complaints in Ireland — electricity and gas — can be escalated to the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) after the supplier's internal process. Broadband and telecoms complaints go to ComReg. Consumer rights issues across most categories — faulty goods, warranties, trader disputes — are handled by the CCPC (Competition and Consumer Protection Commission). Financial services complaints, including insurance, go to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO).
What do I need to make a formal complaint?+−
A clear written account of what happened and when; any reference numbers, account details or order numbers; copies of relevant communications — emails, bills, letters, chat transcripts; and a clear statement of what you're asking for. We help you put this together so the complaint is complete and easy for the company to respond to.
What if the company ignores my complaint?+−
If a company doesn't respond within the standard timeframe under their complaints code, or if the response doesn't address the substance of your complaint, you can escalate to the relevant regulator or ombudsman. We identify this point and show you the specific escalation route.
Can you help with complaints about faulty goods or warranty issues?+−
Yes. Retail complaints, warranty disputes and consumer rights issues under the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act are covered. Whether the right route is the company, the CCPC or small claims depends on the specifics — we work that out from the details of your situation.
